She played Karen Walker on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace (1998-2006, 2017-2020) for which she received eight Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting actress in a Comedy Series winning twice in 2000 and 2006. The character she played also garnered her nominations to various other awards such as seven consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by female actors on an NBC Comedy Series. She won three times between 2001 and 2002. One of Mullally's first performances was in one of the McDonald's commercial, which also featured John Goodman. Her series debut was in The Ellen Burstyn Show in 1986. Following that she appeared on comedy shows such as Frasier and Seinfeld. Mullally relocated to her father's homeland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of six. Her heritage is English Irish and Scandinavian. Since the age of 6, she has studied ballet. She danced with The Oklahoma City Ballet and also went to the School of American Ballet, New York City during her High School years.
